Invisalign® is the revolutionary brace system that has treated 9 million patients since first arriving on the market in 2000.

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® uses a custom set of removable clear plastic aligners to correct moderate and serious spacing, alignment and bite issues. Designed to cause minimal interruption to your day-to-day life, Invisalign® has become synonymous with comfort, flexibility and freedom.

How Invisalign® has changed the experience of having braces

There was a time when adults shied away from the idea of getting braces, mainly down to the limited designs which were restrictive and less than cosmetically appealing! Invisalign® allows patients to eat and brush as normal.

What should I expect from treatment with Invisalign®?

At an initial consultation appointment, we will ask you a few questions about your general health and examine your smile, taking photographs and X-rays. It’s important to us that we gain an understanding of what you hope to achieve with orthodontic treatment and to learn about the aspects of your smile you’re unsatisfied with, so we can best meet your needs.

In Invisalign® lab, where your custom aligners are created. Once your aligners reach us, you will then be invited back to the practice for a fitting appointment and the brace-wearing part of the Invisalign® journey can begin. Each aligner is worn for a 2-week period for 22 hours each day, leaving you with 2 hours each day to brush and eat as normal. This 2-hour window is also incredibly useful for people who work in face-to-face environments and might wish to take them out to give a speech or presentation.

What makes Invisalign® so great?

No brackets or wires to worry about: the aligners are made from a smooth plastic that has been specially cut to fit the unique contours of your smile. Say goodbye to any sharp wires and brackets – Invisalign® aligners are made with comfort in mind.

Subtle design: as the aligners are transparent, no-one needs even know you’re wearing them. This is ideal for those looking for a less cosmetically-invasive brace option than fixed types.

Freedom and flexibility: the freedom that Invisalign® offers is particularly appealing to adult patients who want minimal interruption to their day-to-day lives. As they’re removable, you can eat, drink and brush as normal when choosing Invisalign® to correct your smile.

Know the end result before you start treatment: thanks to Invisalign®’s digitised system, we’ll be able to show you the movements your teeth will go through before beginning the brace-wearing phase. We find this is very useful for patients as it helps to motivate them from the beginning, especially in cases where the treatment time is particularly lengthy.

No interruptions to your speech: you may find the aligners take a couple of days to get used to, but beyond this time you should have no problems with speech, which can be a common issue with fixed braces even after several months.

Underbite

An underbite is when you close your mouth and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.

Overbite

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.
